Which tools and which Tier
Choosing the tool is only half the job. The same product can be safe or unsafe depending on the plan you buy. A free or personal account, a business account and an enterprise account of the same tool are, for our purposes, different products, with different terms for your data, its retention and whether it trains the model. Paid does not mean protected.
We assess each tool against your traffic light, confirm the protections apply to the exact plan you are buying and flag the clear walk-away signals: no data processing agreement, no independent audit evidence, no control over retention or no opt-out of model training. For most firms the safest route is one you may already own, which is AI inside your own Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenant, where the protection sits under your existing agreement.
Specialist legal AI, built for the work
Off-the-shelf tools cover a lot of ground, but some legal work benefits from a tool built for the task. We are developing and testing specialist AI skills for specific legal jobs, built for England and Wales and designed to work only from the materials and authorities you give them. That is how we keep them grounded and accurate rather than inventive.
Each one drafts to a high standard for a lawyer to review and take responsibility for, so they sit at Assist level with the lawyer in charge.
